The starting point for this book is placed in August 1922, when the newspaper "Kathimerini" published with a difference of a few days the historical articles "Oikade" and "The Pomeranians", which both raised a storm of reactions in the intensely polarized climate of the era of the National Division and have since been imprinted on the collective memory. But what were the real springs and the position on the Asia Minor of Georgios Vlachos, the editor of the newspaper, and within what context was Kathimerini pushed to publish "Oikade", an article that supposedly called on the army to leave Asia Minor amid of the Turkish attack that would break up the Greek front? A thorough, documented investigation that attempts to illuminate unknown aspects and unsettled parameters of the tragic events of the Asia Minor Catastrophe.
